How do I assign items to people?

On the Assign step, tap a person's name to assign the item to them. Tap them again to remove the assignment. That's it — no extra buttons needed.

An item has multiple quantities (e.g. 3 cokes). How do I split them?

Each tap assigns one unit of that item to a person. Tap Sarah once = Sarah gets 1 coke. Tap Mike once = Mike gets 1 coke. Tap Joe once = Joe gets 1 coke. The remaining units (0 left in this case) are shown on the item card.

How do I remove someone from an item?

Tap their name again — it toggles off and returns their unit (or 100% share) back to the pool.

Two people want to share one item. How does that work?

Tap the first person (they get 100%), then tap the second person. The app automatically switches to Share mode — both get 50% each. Tap a third person and everyone splits 33% each. Remove someone by tapping them again and the rest redistribute.

What's the Share button for?

It explicitly toggles Share mode for single-quantity items. You can also trigger it automatically by tapping a second person (described above). Share mode is shown in purple when active.

What does the Split button do?

The Split button (↗) opens a detailed modal where you can precisely control how an item is divided — useful for custom fractions or exact unit counts. The modal always reflects the current assignment state, so it's an alternative view, not a different system.

How does the receipt photo help?

Your receipt photo stays visible on the Review step so you can cross-check the extracted items against the original. If something's wrong, you can edit it before moving on.

Can I go back and change things after moving forward?

Yes. Use the ← Back button on each step, or click any completed step in the header bar to jump directly to it. Your progress is preserved.

How does the AI parsing work?

Photos are sent to MiniMax's vision AI to read the receipt and extract line items, prices, and quantities. It handles most receipt formats automatically. If parsing is wrong, you can fix it manually on the Review step.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No. All processing happens in memory. Receipts and assignments are never saved to any server or database.
